THE SAUSAGE SHOw and other bites
MAY 19TH, 20TH & 22ND, 2016
3110 N. SHEFFIELD AVE.
Forte Chicago presents The Sausage Show & Other Bites, a delectable evening of entertainment, featuring an amuse-bouche of stories about food, how it drives us crazy, how it makes us feel, and how it moves through us.
The main course is The Sausage Show, a tale of Sausage Savagery, featuring original music by Lara Golan. What happens when a family linked by their passion for pork finds themselves in Chicago's frying pan? The steaks are high, and there can only be one wiener. The ladies of Forte Chicago will explore the magic of meat, the beauty of burritos, and the desperation of dieting through puppetry, opera, classical music, and greasy spectacle.
LARA GOLAN, COMPOSER
Lara Golan is a pianist, songwriter and composer and is thrilled to be collaborating with Forte for the first time as a guest composer for The Sausage Show. She received her Masters degree in composition from Northwestern University in 1998 and has scored a wide variety of projects since, including games, commercials and a television show pilot. Her first theatrical score, Dr. Egg and the Man With No Ear, produced by Redmoon Theater, was nominated for a Jeff Award for Best Original Incidental Music in 2009. Lara is happiest working collaboratively with other artists.
